Had a fantastic day Reaseheath College helping with the North West & North Wales branch of @CIHort host the region’s final of the Young Horticulturist of the Year competition. Eight impressive entrants and a worthy winner in Frank Cooke. Victoria George MCIHort 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So sad to hear about the passing of Richard Serra 1939. An amazing sculptor whose work “Five Elevations” I had the privilege of helping to erect.

I know there’s been some great advancements in medical science over the past century but I hadn’t realised how much the average life expectancy had risen until I saw this in Tesco today 😂

My niece gave me some zinnia plants, my sister-in-law gave me some dahlia tubers and I sowed a packet of white snapdragons to try to have a cutting patch this year because I was brassed off with supermarket flower prices. I haven’t got much variety but such an abundance. You try!

Buy local farm food. This website shows where you can buy directly from local farmers and farm shops and bypass the supermarkets. Keep cash in your local circular economy rather than giving it away to mega corporations. produceandprovide.co.uk

Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries: “It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use

A very interesting article by Guy Kelly in today’s The Telegraph about whether we have too many dogs now. Even I, a cat person, felt a degree of sympathy for the dogs. As ever, it’s the owners who are at fault. Can we trace the blame back to some bloke in Yorkshire?
