A few times recently I have read comments from academics that they don't like the term 'third space' or agree with the idea. (Here meaning people in roles with responsibilities in both academic and professional domains) Professional staff seem ok with it. Academics, why is this?

Anyone aware of systematic empirical research into organisational restructures at universities? I am particularly interested in studies that have tried to ascertain frequencies of restructures within universities/systems over time, and the resulting implications for staffing etc

We are approaching that time in the semester when therapy dogs are deployed to colleges/universities across the country to solve major problems well beyond their expertise.

I actually find this terminology quite useful because it tells me at a glance who I can safely ignore in these discussions.
