Woah, I was cleaning my office the other day and found these old sketches I did for the incredibles. There was a moment where the supers get sued and they needed court room sketches. These were done 18 years ago!

Artists are not wrists. We tell stories through a visual medium. We are storytellers. The biggest misconception is that we are replaceable cogs in a wheel executing a story/vision that’s already been figured out.

Highly recommend to animation students- learn something else from outside your career focus- we inherit a lot of biases that we don’t realize until we step outside of them- even if we go back we’ll realize all the new possibilities and a more nuanced understanding of our craft*

Classic Dan Haskett animation from Sesame Street: Let's Discuss This (1988)

#Ratatouille is the magnum opus from the apex Pixar era that continues to age like fine wine. ♥️ It's a brilliantly original story with a stunning score and god-tier classical filmmaking artistry. It rewired my animation brain just as #TheIncredibles did a few years prior.
