A big, often overlooked part of "reduce, reuse, recycle" is to buy higher quality goods. That may seem anti-frugal, but it's actually a money-saver in the long term. Buying durable goods = buying fewer goods, needing fewer repairs, reusing the same item for a long time, etc.
