Saving the day for us!! We are flitting about with nervous excitement for Collected Books Durham ‘s biggest event yet! 📚

THIS was the book that started my love for english lit. I emailed Catherine Spooner asking for vampire secondary readings as a little first year undergraduate who loved vampires and now I’m doing my PhD having done part of my MA dissertation on Dracula. This book is FANTASTIC!

A fabulous time away at Wordsworth Grasmere with an amazing group of scholars. Learning about book history, paper, archives and poetry. Lovely! 📄 🐑🌾 was a delight to point out different breeds of sheep (and learn a whole lot else) huge thanks to Northern Bridge Consortium !

“One for sorrow, two for joy…”, and so begins the nursery rhyme about magpies. Superstition says if you see a lone magpie you must “pass the time of day” with it, e.g. “Good morning magpie!”. This wards off the bad luck it may bring. I still do this to this day! #FolkloreSunday
