A very hard day – 5 years ago today, my friend, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty journalist Ihar Losik, was detained. He's been enduring inhumane treatment, kept incommunicado for over 2 years. We fight for his freedom every day. I hope that very soon he will be released & reunited with his loved ones.

💬 How is your health? - FM Radosław Sikorski 🇵🇱🇪🇺 welcomed Siarhei Tsikhanouski, who was released from Belarusian prison. ▪️ At the meeting with Siarhei Tsikhanouski and @tsihanouskaya, it was emphasized that the goal is to release all political prisoners in Belarus, including Andrzej Poczobut.

The first visit of Siarhei Tsikhanouski after release is to Poland – symbolic & important. He thanked Poland and its people, President Andrzej Duda, FM Radosław Sikorski 🇵🇱🇪🇺, and PM Donald Tusk. The fight continues for Andrzej Poczobut, Ales Bialiatski, all political prisoners in Belarus.

Lukashenka is a pathological liar

Over 1,160 political prisoners remain in Belarus. Since 2020, over 1,600 have already served unjust sentences and been released. In June alone, 20 completed their terms, and 13 were "pardoned" by the regime for what it calls crimes. The scale of repression is immense.

While Lukashenka’s regime celebrates Belarusian ‘independence’ today, drowning the country in pro-Soviet state flags and WWII symbolism, there is no true independence, no real freedom, and no genuine celebration. This is what real-life dystopia looks like.
