Year 2 practiced their subtraction skills with dienes today. Manipulating objects to show subtraction of two 2 digit numbers across a 10. It was super interesting to understand why we exchange 1 ten for 10 ones!

For 'World children's Day, we watched a video about how important the rights of a child are. Every child is important and has needs. We all discussed what we would do if we were headteachers for a day and how we’d let all foxfield children have the rights met!

Year 2 had a great trip to our local church today. It was really fun to learn about how Christians pray and see all the features of a church. Thank you Trinity Church! FoxfieldPrimary

Plum Tree class had a fantastic trip into London to see some of the famous landmarks. We used our maps to find a route to the London Eye, Big Ben and found a Paddington Mural too. We even saw King Charles being driven into Buckingham Palace! What a great day we had! FoxfieldPrimary

Plum tree class have loved doing their DT learning journey!! We used our creative skills to design and sew together a peaceful banner with various symbols. This all linked to our history learning about Nelson Mandela! 🪡🧵

Ash Tree class had a great week this week creating their Peace Banner. They cut their design and stitched it to their felt. They had to show lots of resilience as the thread kept coming off the needle and they sometimes made mistakes. Well done! FoxfieldPrimary #peace

Ash tree class have thoroughly enjoyed writing Freedom poems this week, where they used their knowledge of animals to create imagery in their reader’s head. We can’t wait to perform them to our peers!

Year 2 loved looking at different ways we can create sustainable energy! Solar panels, hydroelectric and even wind turbines. Using our knowledge of power created by wind we created cars that could use a different energy source. So much better for the environment!!! 🍃🌬️
