When you are THAT teacher who rarely takes time off unless it is a critical because you don't like to leave your students in the hands of others...it is nice to get immediate word that your students were well behaved and stayed on task. So proud of my students!

Part of number sense is understanding the value of a number in context. Have you tried asking students questions like these? These prompts generate great conversations and give you insight into student thinking. (Use any numbers that are appropriate for your students!)

Teacher's pet peeve #1002: Student does nothing in class and then asks "what can I do to raise my grade?"...uhhh yeah!

We are so proud of Rippon Mentor Program for standing strong this year and continuing to do what is best for students. The support they gave one another made the hard times easier and gave them all invaluable learning experiences. We look forward to a new school year together. 💚

Patience with family is love. Patience with others is kindness. Patience with leadership is honor. Patience with self is wisdom. Patience with the elderly is respect. Patience with children is confidence. Patience with God is faith! May God fill you with patience!

Why is it that, after nearly 10 years of teaching, one negative moment can still outweigh so many positives during the same damn day? For anyone just starting out - know this feeling is normal and 99.9% of the time entirely unnecessary.

Saying goodbye to Rippon Middle School was bittersweet because I made some meaningful connections and engaged with a diverse student body. RPMS will truly be missed.

Dear Middle School and High School Teachers, If you ever bump into a student outside of school, just tell them that you were looking for them because they still owe you an assignment. Their expression of shock and confusion will be the funniest thing you ever see.
