NEW: Today we have published our statistical analysis of deaths across custody. Research carried out by Dr Amir Sariaslan & IAPDC member Prof. @SeenaFazel has found the death rates in prisons & under the Mental Health Act are disproportionately high. iapondeathsincustody.org/news/2024/4/23…

Yesterday, Charlie Taylor wrote to the Secretary of State for Justice Alex Chalk KC to invoke the Urgent Notification process following our unannounced inspection of HMP Wandsworth between 22nd April and 2nd May 2024.






Reflecting on the Wandsworth inspection, Charlie Taylor said "The appalling conditions at Wandsworth did not appear overnight and are the result of sustained decline permitted to happen in plain view of leaders in the jail."
