Today is the end of the contract between U.S. National Science Foundation and SEA1, the owners of the JOIDES Resolution. IMO, not renewing the contract to continue scientific ocean drilling is the most short-sighted decision ever made in the scientific community. What a shame, and a massive loss.

Today is the end of the contract between <a href="/NSF/">U.S. National Science Foundation</a> and SEA1, the owners of the <a href="/TheJR/">JOIDES Resolution</a>. IMO, not renewing the contract to continue scientific ocean drilling is the most short-sighted decision ever made in the scientific community. What a shame, and a massive loss.
