Prison should be about recovery and rehabilitation. Its purpose shouldn’t be to damage prisoner’s health, wellbeing or existing conditions further. When are we going to begin realising the important part that food plays in this and strive to do better?

Reports of no hot food being served for weeks due this ongoing issue at HMP Pentonville which was first highlighted in July 2023. This is a serious issue which will be affecting the diets and wellbeing of over 1000 men considerably. We hope it’s rectified soon.

An important & timely report, highlighting some brilliant examples of food being used to positively impact people’s time in prison, particularly access to self catering.

Popped into one of our courses today, one learner come up to me straight away and said he’s been in prison a long time and done a lot of courses and that his two weeks has been by far the best and most enjoyable one he’s done. The food for the celebration today was amazing!
