I see a causal chain here: 1) Demon roughs up a sleeping Tucker Carlson 2) Facing remorse and utter disgust - mainly the latter - demon flees back in time to escape the newfound horror of its existence 3) Demon creates nuclear technology in an attempt to escape its memories

For the non-Aussies out there, a bit of background: This video was taken from ~50 meters away, so you can’t judge scale. Echidnas are about 2.5 meters tall, 3-4 meters long, weighing ~250 kilos. They’re carnivorous, and regularly attack, killing hundreds of Aussies each year.
