Why are EISFela members participating in Action Short of Strike Action (ASOS) and on Strike on 29th Feb? Because we are well over due two pay rises, employers refuse to meaningfully negotiate and our 'offers' are way below inflation. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Another day of disruption for Scotland's colleges as EISFela and UNISON Scotland members go out on strike. While principals have huge salaries and expense accounts, workers are told there's no money for a better offer - and ScotGov says it isn't their problem.

Striking for the future of FE. I’m here because I’m passionate. I’m here because I’m dedicated. I’m here because I’ve been bullied. I’m here because I’ve been threatened with poverty. I’m here because our students deserve a future. EISFela @GraemeDeyMSP #FightingForFE

At UHI lecturers teach everything from school level through to postgraduate level. If the current college lecturer pay deal goes through, we’ll be earning less than primary school teachers. What’s the point of entering into this profession, when you’re so undervalued?

‘No job losses here’ they said. Bollocks. No redundancies, but we’ve still lost 25% of our academic staff over the last year. The strain put on the remaining staff is immense. We can no longer do our jobs properly. The state of FE 😢

EISFela members are participating in legal and legitimate strike action. We refuse to stand by and be bullied. #RedeemYourself Threats of 100% deduction of wages and threats to backdate deductions are not the actions of a Fair Work employer.

On strike today, yet again. Solidarity with every industrious lecturer who were on strike this week and for the next two, at least. We must not buckle ✊

Scotland’s Further Education sector is in crisis yet despite my repeated calls on him to act, the Minister responsible has been missing-in-action. I have therefore written to him demanding he update Parliament on how he plans to end the current dispute. Ongoing uncertainty…1/2

This morning EIS were outside parliament calling for the Minister for FE & HE to have his wages deemed for ‘partial performance’. Time & again the Minister has refused to act, he’s been missing in action whilst disputes roll on. It’s high time he stepped up & did his job.

So, no pay during strike action, fair enough. Now told to do all the work not done during the strike, fair enough again. Told to do it as unpaid overtime. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Anyone else being punished for taking part in the strikes?
