RT does not mean endorsement... but what if we made crowd souced peer reviewing very simple and easy and open? Well, there is now such a service, Plaudit.pub #peerreview #OpenScience plaudit.pub/endorsements/d…

Heard today about Plaudit.pub - an awesome form of researcher endorsement for publicationsm, including #preprints in bioRxiv. It works as a browser plugin. Check it out in plaudit.pub #preprintsIO

Three years ago today we launched our website. That's almost 4000 papers ago. Now we have a team of moderators, Hypothesis, Plaudit.pub, and other features from our Center for Open Science partners. And more great things to come. Thank you, supporters, volunteers, authors, and readers!

Why add your endorsement to research using Plaudit.pub? Endorsements help increase visibility for researchers, regardless of where their work is published, while informing others what readers found beneficial about a preprint. bit.ly/34jdw7H

A cool thing happened where a reporter looked at a paper on SocArXiv, and saw that I had given it a Plaudit (Plaudit.pub) and so asked me for a comment. (You can follow my plaudits, FYI, at PNC Plaudits)

New preprint! Mitchell Schijen, Daniël Lakens, and I compared the rate of "positive" results (i.e., confirmed hypotheses) in Registered Reports to a sample of standard (non-RR) papers in psychology. We found a *very* large difference. Thread... 1/ psyarxiv.com/p6e9c

Rebecca Sear I honestly wish more people used Hypothesis and Plaudit.pub. The whole point of OSF is that it allows for open peer review. Though I'm not sure I'm quite a "peer." More like a "peer in training."

How many people actually take advantage of Plaudit.pub and Hypothesis integration on Center for Open Science? Posting a preprint is great, but #academics need to get more involved in actually reviewing other peoples' work rather than just hoping that people will find ours interesting.

People should use Plaudit.pub to endorse preprints. This paper was reported on p1 of The New York Times, picked up by 210 other outlets, and tweeted 1677 times. Anyone with an ORCID can endorse it, by name, with the Plaudit button. This would help with signaling. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

I posted a video of a short talk on preprints, peer review, and COVIDs-19. You can watch it here youtube.com/watch?v=yWi4Q5…, but this is the gist 1/

The solutions are a bit too "if only everyone changed their behaviour at the same time", but otherwise this comic is an excellent dissection of some of the fundamental problems of academia.

I start seeing more and more Plaudit.pub beside publications, often in repository. It works with ORCID, DOI, CrossRef, and is a not for profit organisation. Really good idea. let's use it !
