Starting today, we are using our trucks & drivers to do home deliveries of school lunches to those in isolation in our local community. For free.

Let's talk electricity. Europe is in danger of rolling electricity shortages from what I call a crisis of confidence. I will explain why, back it with data & kindly ask YOU to share it as the fix lies in voting for balanced policies. We must adapt, urgently! 1/n #Electricity

the absolute fact of life in the 21st century is that its really lucky that we had the united states in the 20th century, because otherwise we would have had a five hundred year period of darkness after the reds or the browns took it all

When Boko Haram kidnapped Nigerian kids, the whole world got into action. When the Russian government kidnaps Ukrainian kids, it barely even gets noticed.

Reading a great book (The Spin Dictators) by Sergei Guriev and Daniel Treisman, and it's shocking to see how naively optimistic we all have been just a year ago. Moral: no tyranny can remain semi-benign or semi-violent; it always degenerates to total censorship and violence. Give it time.

my family was just forced to vote at gunpoint in russian cosplay of a “referendum” in southern ukraine: - they come to your house - you have to openly tick the box for being annexed by russia (or for staying with ukraine if you feel suicidal) - all while armed gunmen watch you

2014 marches for peace in central Moscow, tens of thousands of people came. In the first pic is one of the organisers, Boris Nemtsov, and the sign says "Hands off Ukraine". He was planning to lead another anti-war rally in March 2015, but was shot dead a couple of days before.

Why do you think you know everything about everything just because you made a load of money in tech? Maybe you can be wrong sometimes - imagine that! Maybe other people actually kind of know things like Russia and Ukraine better than you.

Today is the first day of winter and I want you to watch this video of Christmas #Mariupol as it was a year ago, when the city and its residents didn’t yet know what awaited them in 2 months.
