Lots of talk about injection sites. But no one asking why those experiencing homeless are concentrated in a few areas. There’s a simple answer: hills.

We spend so much money as a city Shouldn’t we demand a more equitable geography? Why is it that only millionaire “tech VCs” can afford nice “views” Why is it that the rest of us live beneath them (literally and figuratively) More needs to be done

Tech VCs don’t believe in us because we are threatening their “elevated” status Billionaires like Andrew Reed andrew chen Sahil Lavingia 👨🏻‍💻☕️ Naval @jason don’t want to hear what we are saying, and won’t put a cent behind supporting us because they *want* hills

Leveling affluent neighborhoods, and building a flatter, more equal San Francisco, isn’t extreme. Ignoring the data that hills cause inequality is. Time to face the facts and *do something*

The one thing that makes Manhattan so much more walkable compared to SF is the flatness. You can walk anywhere easily. I don't miss the hills one bit.

To everyone messaging us about affordability - we address this on our internet “site” flattensf.org Modest tax increase + federal subsidies + tax benefits from new jobs MORE than cover the cost of the project

📣 What do we want? 🗣 A FLATTER, MORE EQUITABLE CITY 📣 When do we want it? 🗣 AFTER A BALLOT RESOLUTION PROCESS THAT INCORPORATES DIVERSE FEEDBACK FROM LOW-ELEVATION COMMUNITIES

Woke up this morning to a generous donation from Keith Rabois, which BY ITSELF gets us half the way to funding our ballot initiative. So grateful for his philanthropic drive to make SF a more equitable place 🙏🙏🙏

We all know hills drive inequality. But they also limit perspective. If you live at the top of PacHeights, you have no idea what’s happening down the hill from you. This causes a vicious feedback loop, and needs to change. Now.

Groups like GrowSF make it seem like they’re helping. But under the surface, it’s hill-toppers pushing job creation and more housing. This is not what working people in SF really need. We commit ourselves to literally leveling the playing field. #sayYesToFlat

San Francisco is one of the wealthiest and most innovative cities in the world, and we turn a blind eye to our crumbling education system. We cannot blame Republicans for this failure. There are none in elected local office.
