In one of Mohnish Pabrai's talks given in 2016 to Peking University students, he mentions a book called The Shipping Man by Matthew McCleery - I am 40 pages in so far and the books is incredibly funny as promised by Mohnish teaching the reader about shipping at the same time😆

I'll say it again: By the time you wake up to the fact that it would be a good idea to make Roth contributions, you're probably in your peak earning years and you've passed the most lucrative window to make Roth contributions (i.e., lowest-earning years).

Very well written, I am continually impressed by the high-quality write-ups produced by Quartr Team and the lucid writing approach taken by the authors. Thank you for putting this together!

Congrats Nick, I will definitely be reading your book, Can I ask you who sets the Pre-Order Price? Can it not be brought down under/at $20? I have almost always been on the losing side of a pre-order trade, the price inevitably comes down

The older I get, the more I realize that showing up is the key to life. Show up when it’s hard. Show up when no one’s watching. Show up when you don't feel like it. Show up when the rewards are uncertain. Show up. You can never bet against the person who just keeps showing up.

The richest people didn't get there by picking stocks, market timing, or buying exotic investments. They got there by creating something of value and owning a piece of it. If you want to build extreme wealth: Equity > Everything else

Major cheat code for life: Tolerance for boredom. Success isn't flashy. It's built through long periods of extremely disciplined, boring routines. If you need constant novelty, you won't make it very far. To shine in the light, you have to embrace the boring work in the dark.

Life lesson I learned from Morgan Housel: Independence is the best drug on earth. Nothing beats it. Not real drugs, not status, not a million dollars, just the feeling of autonomy. It’s one of the few things you can’t put a price on. And unlike other drugs, the high persists.

I would like to re-phrase a sentence from the blog as “There is a psychological hurdle that you will miss the next Tesla, Nvidia, Broadcom by selling and spending too early” The Trillion $ company clubs that today’s Millennials have seen grow in value will further this divide

Few people have had as big an impact on finance as Thomas Peterffy, founder of Interactive Brokers. His story is mindblowing, no exaggeration. He grew up in the grip of communism and has spent the rest of his life promoting capitalism by making markets more efficient and cheaper

“In 1993, he launched Interactive Brokers to give ordinary investors the same technological advantages he had built for himself. That business is now worth over $100 billion, and Peterffy owns 70% of it. It operates with higher profit margins than Visa while offering some of the

An incredible David Senra episode on Thomas Peterffy. He read everything about Peterffy and put together an episode. I loved this quote: "On Wall Street, I feel like Alice in Wonderland. Nothing makes sense. Everything is messed up and different from the way I think it
