Great Portland Street underground station was used as an air raid shelter during World War 2. Ita Ekpenyon, who lived at 146 Great Titchfield Street  was the warden in charge of the sheet. Hear his remarkable story in a 30 minute BBC Radio documentary. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
