Biogenic carbon cycle: during photosynthesis, plants assimilate atmospheric CO2 into cellulose, the latter being eaten by a ruminant, converted during enteric fermentation into methane, which stays in the atmosphere for one decade to be oxidized into atmospheric CO2. Loop closed.
