Kingfisher had a wonderful afternoon learning how to programme a spreadsheet to count how many vowels and consonants there are in different words. Truly, they are technology wizards!

This afternoon, Kingfisher were working on their final piece within our Architectural unit. Using their original pencil sketch of a house, they have developed their drawing into a watercolour. How lovely!

Today is Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children US. Whilst looking merry and bright, Kingfisher also reflected on how it is important to think of and support those children who may not be as fortunate as themselves during the Christmas period. #Thankful #Reflective

Happy World Book Day! 📚 To celebrate, children were able to share a story with their adults. It was lovely to hear such great reading and to see so many captivated faces. “Throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookshelf on the wall.” ~ Roald Dahl.

Kingfisher had a practical afternoon focussing on knife skills. We looked at how a claw grip is an effective method when chopping vegetables and how to use a grater and peeler safely.

To celebrate British Science Week, we explored the work of Charles Mackintosh and his pioneering work in creating the original waterproof jacket. We tested if glue, PVA and oil would create an effective barrier against water.

What an incredible Sports’ Morning for Year 5! 🌞🏅The determination, teamwork and sportsmanship on display were outstanding. From the thrilling races to the fantastic field events, every student gave their best effort. We are proud of each and every one of you! #keepactive
