Watching President Obama’s graduation address tonight I think I finally understand Obamagate. It’s the scandal of having a president being able to speak with empathy, humor, insight, inspiration and in complete and coherent sentences.

You may be down, but that’s not your final destination. God is saying, “Get ready to rise. Get ready for favor, get ready for breakthroughs, get ready for healing.” What was meant for your harm, God is turning to your advantage.

Happy Juneteenth! Today we celebrate June 19, 1865 when General Gordon Granger & Union Troops reached Galveston TX with news that the Civil War ended. Taking place 2 1/2 years after the Emacipation Proclamation. This represented the end of slavery in the US.

Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. It's a celebration of progress. It's an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible––and there is still so much work to do. nytimes.com/2020/06/18/opi…

Rockwood started the "Welcome Home" program to encourage minority graduates of the district to return as teachers upon graduation from college. The goal is attract a diverse teaching staff that reflects the student population. Read more: bit.ly/3iDyLZx
