You'll be glad you learnt another language when you want to get the last taxi back to a Paris hotel, get served first in a Barcelona restaurant, find your way home in Ghent or rearrange your flight in Rome. You never know when you'll reap the rewards of learning another language.

I don't speak German like a native speaker, but I love understanding & being understood. I can't say everything in French, but I have fun trying. My Spanish is fluent, but I'm always learning new things. Languages are a lifelong adventure that rewards you every step of the way.

Spanish was my key to Catalan, Galician & even Basque. French opened the door to Gascon & Guernésiais. German inspired my love of Romansh & Anglo-Saxon & they all led to Albanian, Farsi & more. Let one language lead you to another & each one will show you a bit more of the world.

Languages can be about the big things, like interpreting at the UN, teaching classes of new learners or translating life-changing documents or they can be about making connections, raising a smile, enjoying music, food, friendships & new experiences. Languages are for everyone.
