British Pteridological Society BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland Recording plants in grounds of a garden centre here in Northants in the rain i crawled under a load of benches to find an alien fern species naturalised amongst lots of Harts tongue at base of outside of greenhouse wall. Im not sure of the species.

For #fernfriday as I walked home in the High Weald this week: Hard-fern Struthiopteris spicant and Polypody Polypodium vulgare in a lane edge looking just fine. British Pteridological Society

Definitely one for the calendar, a talk by expert @westo_fernnerd on evolution and endemism, and even better featuring #Clubmoss #FernFriday British Pteridological Society (5pm GMT via YouTube)

It's #FernFriday which is like #wildflowerhour but better 😉 Two common wood ferns, Dryopteris dilata and D. filix-mas among autumn leaf litter in Sefton Meadows British Pteridological Society

Nice to meet friends from 'across the pond' this evening, with Julian Reed giving a great lecture on Athyrium cultivars, linking up British Pteridological Society and the Hardy Fern Foundation. #Athyrium #Ferns

Looking forward to this talk about global patterns of #fern diversity featuring work done by @westo_fernnerd @frondley_fern & Michael Sundue

For a Filmy #FernFriday try tonight's BBC Gardeners' World (9:30pm BBC Two). Nick Bailey visits the Princess of Wales Conservatory KewGardens where he celebrates their vast collection of #ferns. Also help with going #PeatFree

Up, up and....er gone: A great paper by Sven Batke @SETarvin. Nowhere to escape – Diversity and community composition of ferns and lycophytes on the highest mountain in Honduras cambridge.org/core/journals/…

A great day doing a comprehensive Asplenium septentrionale count together with Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru | Natural Resources Wales staff. Some positive site actions have already been done, and a good discussion on a management plan to look after this very special site.
