Was great to visit Glasgow Botanic Gdns Gardens today. Cracking Free day out in Glasgow’s west end.

If it’s too wet outside for the glasshouse heron, there is something to see indoors. As well as the massive plant collection, the Friends of Glasgow Botanics have a series of pop up “ I Love the Botanics” events planned. Watch out for the posters and future dates on the website.

Glasgow Botanic Gardens are open 30th, 31st December and 1st and 2nd January. glasshouse times are 10 to 4pm and grounds are 7 to 5.

Our tree is always up, a Moroccan Fir, Abies pinsapo var maroccana, a conifer conservation specimen ICCP This year we managed to collect a lot of seed from this one and we will check germination in the new year.

We are going green for NSPCC Scotland and the Walk for Children Christmas fundraising walk. Hundreds of people across the UK walk 5k on 22 December, the longest night of the year. Because for children suffering abuse, every night feels like the longest.
