Getting your autism diagnosis is so freeing until you realise that it makes no difference to most of the people around you except for yourself Most people won't take it into consideration. Ever. And that's another hard battle of autism acceptance

It's so interesting to me because people observing me often tell me I have a very flirtatious personality, when in my eyes I'm just being nice

I love being autistic, it's who I am, it makes me me I just dislike it simply because I live in a world where it will never be accommodated. I'll ALWAYS be struggling/in pain/uncomfortable, and that's a hard pill to swallow sometimes

I always say: doing one trivial task a day is enough to send me over the edge I can't believe people manage to get ready, go to work, socialise, cook, clean all in one day without melting down or shutting down

Someone made a comment that autistic people aren't disabled if they work, and it just boggles my little brain at how some people think this way

The autistic experience of everyone not fully grasping that you working long-term means you're in constant burnout & can't function, so instead of trying to help them understand that your disability does in fact disable you, you mask & pretend it's fine #ActuallyAutistic

And also; please take us seriously when we say it actually causes us discomfort and pain. The day wasn't difficult for you, but it was excruciating for us
