The NYT article that just came out just revealed that Britney Spears has been fighting her conservatorship because it has given her father control over nearly every aspect of her life. It extended from whom she dated to the color of her kitchen cabinets. This system is broken.

Is anyone else completely heartbroken over the Britney news? It makes us feel deeply for the many women in prisons, disabled women, and immigrant women who have been forced into sterilization

From NYT: “I didn’t know I could petition the conservatorship to be ended,” Spears told a judge. “I’m sorry for my ignorance, but I honestly didn’t know that.” She added, “My attorney says I can’t — it’s not good, I can’t let the public know anything they did to me.”
