Just a tiny snapshot from one of the stimulating sessions at ORFC 2022. This year there really seemed to be a spirit of optimism and some good examples of the benefits of combining acquired wisdom from those who have been around a while with the drive and enthusiasm of youth.

Importantly there is an urgent need to control grey squirrels, which are not native and unlike red squirrels are bad news for trees, causing considerable damage. They are also a big threat to red squirrels. If we can get rid of greys then reds could regain their rightful place

Well worth a visit even if you have been before. The museum has plenty of interesting exhibits as well so you can have a grand day out. I'll be there. Why not come and have a chat?

Now the latest fear propaganda being pedalled in this country is that we won't have anything to eat without artificial fertiliser. Let's debunk this nonsense. Organic farmers can produce plenty of good food without artificial fertiliser. Of course that doesn't line Yara's pocket

According to minette batters this morning on Radio 4 farmers are now putting plants into landfill rather than growing them because they can't afford the gas to heat their glass houses. National Farmers' Union Landfill? Really? Why? Please tell me it's not true.

Belated thanks to Rybrook Warwick BMWi Rybrook Warwick BMW for letting me have an i4 to test while my i3 was in for MOT and service. This is a very competent car, bigger, lower and quicker than the i3 but still not as appealing for my purposes. The i3 was and still is such an amazing car.

This is always a good event, getting better each time with more to see and of course the British Motor Museum included, which is well worth a visit in its own right. I will be there.

Thank you National Trust at Waddesdon. Destination charging while visiting. Looking forward to developments here and at other properties to expand the destination charging provision to cater for the increasing take up of EVs. Meanwhile this is a great help today.

Another good day at the Electric Vehicles Festival at Gaydon today. EV Festival & Green Living Show Other makes were there but a good representation of BMWi3 as now ending production. A future classic?

Once the iX at the end had gone I moved from the back row to take its place and complete the i3 line. Naturally I parked neatly as well.

The sooner the better. There's little or no point in planting trees with grey squirrel population as it is now. The amount of damage they have done to ours is staggering. Let's have native red squirrels back in their rightful place in the UK and leave greys to the Americans.
