Being aware that the Furyan had heightened senses, he made sure to stand down with as to not let Riddick catch a whiff of blood. Couldn't let him know he found more trouble than he bargained for on his solo hunts. "I'll be at home," he says before taking a swig from his bottle.

Johns dumps a wad of bloodied gauz in a trash can before going to wash his hands, then make something to eat. Now that everyone knew he was back, he expected his flock to fly home; so he ought to feed them. Luna, especially. That kid apparently doesn't know how to feed himself.

"Since when did you start fighting in the pits?" He was mildly concerned, to say the least.

Johns' lips pursed as he nodded, trying to remain supportive. "And uh...how's that working out? Is it...going well?"

Whatever faith Johns had in a higher power died long ago. He understood, in Luna's case, that he found solace in that faith, and it wasn't his place to persuade the boy to believe otherwise. But he knew Luna had practical needs, too. "Look, if it's money you need..."

Johns exhaled sharply, briefly turning his attention to the ground. He failed to protect one son. He wasn't prepared to lose another. "Is there anything I can do to help you?"

"Absolution?" Both hands latch onto his hips as he steps close. His head cocks to the side as he looks upon the young man with a parental air, which he tried to suppress. "Prove what won't happen again? What the hell happened?"
