It came down to a four-way sprint finish and Kenya's Peres Jepchirchir won the London Marathon in a women's-only world record of 2:16:16. Tigst Assefa (2:16:23), Joyciline Jepkosgei (2:16:24), and Megertu Alemu (2:16:34) also went under the previous record.
