Working up figures for my Bridges paper. Many ways to make patterns invariant under various layer groups. Beautiful mathematics and beautiful patterns. Bridges Math Art #mathart

A productive mistake. The bands have mirror symmetry, but I placed them incorrectly. They wiggle in an amusing manner and display nice rotational symmetry anyway. #geometry #mathart #bridgesmathart

Deadline for Short Papers for our summer Bridges conference Bridges Math Art is March 1! They have just announced that the conference will be virtual, so you can offer a paper without having to travel to Helsinki! Papers are only 4 pages and you have four days! #mathart

This array of linked knots illustrates a configuration where seven colors are needed for a map on a torus. (Every knot links with each of the other six colors.) Glad I have a little time to develop the idea before the deadline for Bridges Math Art #mathart #geometricart

The JMM interface appears to be down. Is everyone having this problem or just me and the organizer of my session? #JMM2022
