S&P Global President & CEO Doug Peterson opens the first day of the #Sustainable1 event. "The theme of sustainability is more timely and relevant than ever," Mr. Peterson says, "but no one sector nor one enterprise can put us on the path to #sustainability."

Following Doug's remarks, the first panel for the #Sustainable1 event begins: S&P Global Ratings' Global Chief Economist Paul Gruenwald leads a conversation on "The Economics of Sustainability."

"Within the multilateral, international community there is much greater emphasis on moving towards a greener growth model." Carmen Reinhart, World Bank Group Chief Economist, states during the #Sustainable1 panel.

"There is no amount of government money that can be put to the climate challenge that will make the difference alone. There has to be private sector innovation," according to Citi Global Chief Economist Catherine Mann.

"Get finance to be collectively onboard," Citi's Catherine Mann advises at today's #Sustainable1 event. "Globalization, just as the climate transition will be, was incredibly successful. It delivered huge gains, just as the climate transition will."
