I feel like I’m a lot like this father. My mom was killed by a racist man & Now I teach young men & women to love one another regardless of race/religion. We may not get to every pothole/person but we will surely save some lives in the process of making this world a better place!

When people around you are doing extraordinary work, it’s important to let them know. Educators don’t do their thing for “pats on the back,” but a little bit of validation can provide an extra boost of energy to keep on keepin’ on. Everyone likes to be noticed and appreciated.

Things you won't see from a box score last night: Christian Wilkins, before he answered any media questions, went out of his way to recognize Frank Thomas, a retired first sergeant who served 25 years as an engineer in the Army and sang "God Bless America" before the 4th quarter.

I think administrators should connect with kids… but they should also connect with teachers. Teachers need their support and encouragement too.
