Outside the spiritual benefits that come with going to confessions, there are also some psychological benefits. Going to confessions and hearing the words of absolution from the priest are consoling and soothingly therapeutic.

Go on your way in peace. Be of good courage. Hold fast that which is good. Render to no man evil for evil. Strengthen the fainthearted. Support the weak. Help and cheer the sick. Honor all men. Love and serve the Lord.

The right way to find happiness is to put others first. Happiness is a perfume, you cannot pour on others, without getting a few drops on yourself.

Lord, help us see our excuses for what they are—nothing but excuses.
