It’s a trifecta of autumn celebrations today in the neighborhood - local parish picnic, Brew in the Lou, and our block party. Only participating in the latter because I can’t hang anymore plus parent duties (circle back to can’t hang).

The munchkin fell asleep on me while I barked out animal names for the Echo’s Animal Sounds program. It was just what I needed after his 5:30am start on the day & my headache.

I need good thoughts & wishes sent our way tomorrow - first flight since the pandemic and with a baby out the outside. My last flight was pre-pandemic & about 8ish weeks pregnant.

We survived the flights & the munchkin was a freakin champ! Life’s been tough for me lately so this was a BIG win that I sorely needed.

I should know better than to post anything remotely positive about the munchkin’s sleep behavior. Last night was a dumpster inferno. I can’t even explain/comprehend what the hell happened & why.

This amazes me - per my FitBit, typically the only time my heart rate goes below my “resting” rate while I’m sleeping is when I fall asleep holding the munchkin in our rocking chair. Pretty powerful stuff, that bond.

Munchkin is down for a nap, I have a fresh cup of tea, there’s flurries outside, and I’m working on our Christmas cards. What’s this happy feeling?

It never fails. If I ever want the youngling to eat more, I just have to be eating something I don’t particularly want to share, but end up sharing with him anyway.
