Excited to announce I've matched to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for oncology fellowship, and feeling super grateful for all the support I've had throughout my various life stages. To celebrate, here's a pic of Conrad practicing his big-city mean mug look #HemeOnc #match #mdphd #doubledocs

In ‘21 I left Harvard when my lab was growing quickly, I was an NIH Director DP5 Recipient, millions in grant funding and papers in top journals But pandemic put grants/publishing into new perspective Here’s a new interview covering *some* of why I left harvardmagazine.com/2025/01/harvar…

No study section...no grant reviews No grant reviews...no grants awarded No grants awarded...no research No research...no functional NIH And if your salary was funded by NIH, no paycheck either if this lasts indefinitely

1) Since there is a lot of confusion about the reduction of the overhead rate on NIH grants to 15% (see here: grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/n…) I'll do a little tweetorial (or X-torial?) about it.

A “largest” R01 is now capped at 575k/year incl 15% indirect. NIH CUTS total 4 BILLION dollars/year So that SHOULD mean 7000 more grants/yr? Twice the current # of R01s. BUT THEN WHY NOT MENTION in the NIH statement? BECAUSE THE PLAN IS JUST TO CUT, NOT TO DO MORE RESEARCH.

This was one of RFK Jr.’s first orders after being sworn in. Just an astonishing denial of science and will cause so much pain to the 45 million Americans facing mental health challenges.

As a Jewish student at Harvard, I can tell you first-hand that cutting cancer research doesn’t do anything about antisemitism. It’s clear that antisemitism is a cover for the Trump administration’s dangerous agenda of attacking institutions of learning and critical research.

It is disappointing & very concerning to read there may be a purposeful delay in appointing an NCI Director to strongly advocate for preserving and enhancing National Cancer Institute’s vital role in the war on cancer. It’s too important. Association of American Cancer Institutes ASCO American Cancer Society AACR Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD
