really annoying that Emerald Fennell not only comes from a wealthy family and was able to access more rooms because of that, but also gets to make bad movie after bad movie, and whenever she gets rightfully criticized for bad work y'all are going on about sexism

My heart breaks every day for the little kids who’ve done nothing wrong who the sadistic sociopaths Trump & Miller are putting in fear of losing their parents. ICE is a scourge & this immigration “policy” is an un-American disgrace.

CLEOPATRA (1963) was so massive that it nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox, with costs skyrocketing to around 44 million dollars at the time. Well over 400 million in today’s money.

she’s going to cast an actress too old to play Dolores and have her and Humbert engage in a consensual sadomasochistic relationship. the plot twist is that she was the seductress all along. some argue that it’s better than Kubrick’s adaptation because it gives Dolores agency

As the evil German mother who is exuding villainy all over the screen in Hitchcock's "Notorious," Mme. Leopoldine Konstantin would seem to be born to the role. She is tall and regallooking, she conducts herself as domineeringly as a villainess should.

It's so funny that he tries to make a joke about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and gets no laughs, which is a reminder that AOC and Newsom and the rest of the top tier Dems could make mincemeat out of this guy in 2028. He has the charisma of a broken wooden chair and the humor of Elon Musk.

Just saw a bestselling self-help author argue that it’s “privileged” to expect authors to have time to read books. One of the many reasons I despise the self-help genre is because these books are often written by people who have no knowledge of fiction, poetry, myth, wisdom.

My childhood was desperately poor, but that didn’t stop me from reading and loving Jules Verne, Lewis Carroll, Dickens, Shakespeare, Daphne DuMaurier, the Brontë sisters. We make time for the things that we love. Reading is not a “privilege,” it’s a human right.

I feel sorry for these guys who are always posting, like, “AI video of Pikachu vs. the Balrog” and if you quiz them they have never read a Shakespeare play, never read a poem, can’t name a film made before 1980. No taste, no curiosity, joyless & vulgar, they are hollow men.

Neal Katyal son of immigrants went to SCOTUS won & overturned tariffs, Alysa Liu, daughter of an immigrant, went Olympics & won gold. Winners representing a fraction of the myriad contributions to American society made every damn day by immigrants. Diversity is our strength USA.
