Today marks 3 years since Folajimi ‘Jimi’ Olubunmi-Adewole, 20, died after heroically jumping into the river Thames to save a woman from drowning in what was described as a ‘sheer act of bravery.’

Dear NHS England,

Let’s remember; Equality ≠ Equity

#Equality is sameness
#Equity is fairness

So why the push for this “Equality Delivery System” for the NHS to address health disparities?

We can’t discuss equality when the playing field isn’t level.

It’s Black Maternal Awareness Week. There’s been a lot of amazing work done in the last few years by Fivexmore_ The Motherhood Group and lots of other orgs. We need to keep examining wider systemic issues surrounding this but also keep telling those positive births stories,

The GMC’s argument that it is compelled to investigate and punish all doctors who have been found to break the law is fundamentally flawed. This case has absolutely no bearing on patient care, safety, public confidence nor trust - which should be the GMC’s sole consideration.

Stephen Lawrence was not the first or last. Racism happens communally & has to be tackled communally, in education & our families. If we do not address our past, continue to deny & minimise the white supremacist roots in this country, we will continue to repeat it. RIP Stephen 🙏🏾

Stephen Lawrence, 18, was murdered by racist thugs while waiting for the bus in 1993. He was then failed by the Met Police who were found to be institutionally racist after not properly investigating his death. The Met remains institutionally racist today. RIP Stephen Lawrence🙏🏾
