Today, I'm introducing the Ranked Choice Voting Act. By requiring ranked choice voting in primaries and general elections for Congress, we'll guarantee that all winners have the broad support of the folks they’ll represent.

On average gas taxes pay for 41% of the cost of roads, and in many states it's as low at 7%. Everyone paid for this bus lane... including the people cycling and taking transit, and on average they damage the road less. taxfoundation.org/data/all/state…

A ubiquitous and wonderful New England housing style that two members of Ordinance Committee decided to last minute to try and remove from the Neighborhood Code. If we take steps backwards in housing, can we at least take enough back to where these were legal? #btvcc #vtpoli

Amazing that new state report’s top recommendation for fixing health care is to build more housing. That’s also the best way to create more VT jobs, better fund services, meet our inclusion goals and more. Name a VT problem + building a lot more housing is probably the solution

I know that we can be a statistical outlier because of our small size, but it's kinda cool that Vermont is dark green. Especially compared to the rest of New England. #vtpoli

Chittenden County is one of 3 or maybe 4 places in all of New England that has a median population age below the national median. I am actually pleasantly surprised by this.

If you tried to make a bingo card of how their housing policies "work" you'd just end up with an empty sheet of paper. Also they forgot Auckland....

Do "landlords" profit by keeping vacancy higher? Common sense, science, math, and Econ 101 all say no. But conspiracy theorists say yes, so NMHC did a research paper on the topic. They found, not surprisingly, that higher vacancy is correlated with lesser rent growth. When

You know, I take it all back this makes me realize that car centric infrastructure truly is the pinnacle of achievement. The fact we didn't build this in 1936 is a perpetual stain on our history.

OPINION — "The housing shortage in Vermont is a big problem, but new laws are allowing the private sector to chip away at it. That’s something to celebrate in 2025," writes Jason Sorens. buff.ly/40c3LXm

Sometimes you just have to shake your head. We’ve got towns in a declining state opposing modern wastewater infrastructure because they’re afraid that infrastructure might lead to more housing. That’s their level of opposition to new housing. And hoo boy at some of the comments.
