After taking stock and reflecting on the mission, these days we bid farewell to the short and long-term observers of #EUEOM2023mv

#EUEOM2023mv! 🇪🇺🗳 is coming to an end. Constructive dialogues with candidates & party leaders in the past weeks have given the mission an insight into the electoral environment. The mission is currently working on a detailed final report & recommendations for future elections.

#EUEOM2023mv held a concluding meeting w/ Elections Commission to review the preliminary report & explore potential recommendations. The mission also expressed appreciation to the ECM for its cooperation throughout the electoral process.

At the end of our mission to the Maldives, we express our gratitude to all stakeholders, local staff and partners for their cooperation. We look forward to submitting our final report and to further engagement with stakeholders in the near future. 🙏🇲🇻

The #EUEOM Chief Observer is back in the 🇲🇻 to present the final report. Ahead of the final report launch to the public tomorrow, he is meeting electoral stakeholders to discuss the prospects for translating the EU's final report recommendations into electoral reform.

The #EUEOM’s Chief Observer Mr. Jose Ignacio Sanchez Amoris met with the Members of the Commission today. Discussions were held about the EU's final report for the 2023 Presidential Election of the #Maldives

Today, our mission presented the final report (Dhiv) & recommendations to Ministry of Foreign Affairs 🇲🇻 . A constructive meeting ensued,discussing the path forward w/ valuable suggestions to enhance the electoral process in the 🇲🇻. Grateful for the collaboration & commitment to democratic progress.

#EUEOMMaldives2023 today also presented and discussed the mission's final report in the People's Majlis during fruitful discussions with various stakeholders on electoral reform and mutual cooperation.

At the MVbroadcom meeting, discussing the findings of the final report, with a special focus on the media landscape in the Maldives 🇲🇻

Today, our Chief observer Nacho Sánchez Amor and core team engaged in discussions with HRC of the Maldives , focusing on the final report findings, particularly emphasizing electoral rights during elections.🗳️

Chief Observer Nacho Sánchez Amor had discussions with the AG Office Maldives regarding the findings of the #EUEOM final report. Encouraged by their acceptance to refine the electoral process through legal advancements.

#EUEOMMaldives2023 also had a meeting with ACC-MALDIVES to delve into findings and recommendations, particularly focusing on widely acknowledged aspects of vote buying and electoral campaigning. 🇪🇺

CO Nacho Sánchez Amor shared insights and recommendations on key areas of the presidential election with Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and also discussed prospects for further improving the electoral processes.

Productive meeting with Transparency MV , focusing on #EUEOMMaldives2023 findings and recommendations in the final report. Highlighting efforts in civic empowerment and their valuable contributions to election observation. 🇪🇺

At the end of its mission, #EUEOMMaldives2023 convened a roundtable w/ electoral stakeholder to discuss the 20 recommendations from the final report, their possible implementation, & perspectives on how to improve elections in the future and further strengthen democracy in the 🇲🇻
