🚨 Following the adoption of the first set of EU standards, the #CSRD requires the adoption of complementary sector-specific standards by 2024. However, the European Commission is proposing to delay the adoption of this second set to 2026. Why does this matter? 👇

🔴 While all eyes are turned to the #Coreper meeting awaiting the outcome of the vote on the #CSDDD, EU policymakers agreed on Wednesday to postpone by two years the deadline for the adoption of sector-specific standards for companies' sustainability reporting. 🧵

🧵"Entering into force" means the directive is officially EU law. ✋But companies won't need to comply just yet #CSDDD kicks in gradually. The timeline based on company size starts3⃣years after it takes effect (around 2027).
