~ prospective employers about my age. I told them I was only twenty. Luckily, I found work again as a servant with a pretty affluential ~

~ family and stayed on there for almost ten years before the whispers started again. People from Clarkston were starting to move to ~

~ Edinburgh and a few had ended up at parties or dinners thrown by my employers. One night, I was recognized by one of them and that was ~

~ the end of my employment with that family. The following night, I was tracked down and beaten and by all rights, I should have died that ~

~ very night. They actually said I did but, was somehow revived. By now, it was the year was 1914 and I was 42 years old yet, I STILL ~

~ didn’t look a day older than 17. After all those years, I literally was not aging. At that point, instead of moving on to another town ~

~ in Scotland, I decided it was best to get as far away as I could. So, I made my way to the ports, found a boat, gave them almost my ~

~ whole life savings and left for America.
