This is the first election since 1993 (and that at the second decimal place, before that 1987) at which the Coalition's seat share has been below their primary vote share. They would have won more seats under PR.

Yesterday I declined to absolutely call #Bradfield because I thought Boele still had a chance though if anyone asked me what chance I would have said 2%. Much more than that now.

Bradfield back in play after a batch of out-of-division pre-polls breaks 298-179 to Nicolette Boele, cutting her deficit from 178 to 59. Based on how late counting has been counting, my probability estimate is probably an under-estimate. pollbludger.net/fed2025/Result…

In 1980, I wrote the roleplaying game "Call of Cthulhu". When it was published, everyone I knew who had heard about Lovecraft had heard about him because I had told them personally. Lovecraft was vanishingly obscure. I knew Lovecraft was an unknown. I expected Call of Cthulhu

making a thread of useful resources for people tweeting at me since I run into many of the same conversations over and over and won’t have time to reply to every single person at the rate that folks are sending stuff to me (sorry! I also have a job I have to do).

Burma scenario for my Empire of the Sun originally published in C3i magazine. It will now be included in the upcoming reprint. This one was an Allied decisive victory as the Burma road was reopened.

Slightly over five years after I read volume one and 4231 pages later, I've finally finished the last book in Jonathan Sumption's monumental history of the Hundred Years War.

The only doubt left in Morphett was over how many votes were remaining in the count. A small number were added today, and it seems clear Labor will win, giving it 34 seats in total, and leaving the Liberals with just one metro Adelaide seat.
