Yesterday, San Diego only had 11 confirmed cases of coronavirus. But that includes 2 health care workers at UCSD who acquired it through local community transmission, rather than travel abroad. We know there will be more cases and more deaths, we just don't know how many. 2/3

I asked a nurse how the community could help support our health care workers. Her immediate response: "social distancing". It works. It slows the spread so our hospitals are not overwhelmed, causing more deaths. Protect them, protect yourself. Please. Lives depend on it. 3/3

Dads working from home: while there are more parents working from home than ever, please speak openly with colleagues and clients about the challenges and logistics of WFH with kids. 1/3

Openly admit you need to schedule a Zoom meeting around a child's nap or mealtime. Acknowledge your children playing loudly when they can be heard on a call, without apology. 2/3

WFH with kids during the pandemic is not like normal WFH. But while so many are doing it, this is a great time to help normalize fathers as active caregivers and level the playing field for working moms. 3/3
