#SlittyEyesSundayTimes I'm shocked at @thesundaytimes for printing something so racist at a time when Anti-Asian hate crimes have sky rocketed. we shouldn't need a petition to get an official retraction and apology from christinalamb but here we are: change.org/p/the-sunday-t…

British Chinese Biz (@b_chinesebiz) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Support the movement. Say no to racism. Hold @thesundaytimes christinalamb fully accountable for its racist front page article. Where is your acknowledgment of harm to the ESEA community, and commitment to do better? Chinese people are not your punchlines. We demand respect.

. @SimplyAYT_ christinalamb Christina has done some of the most important reporting on women and marginalised communities and I don’t condone abuse (especially to family members), but the first tweet read like revisionism & a journalist can not do that when our business is the truth.

So some of you may have been following our esea.sisters petition to ask @thesundaytimes to retract and formally apologise for a front page news piece flagrantly condoning and encouraging racism change.org/p/the-sunday-t…

susiebubble (@susiebubble) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I came back onto Twitter because I was so disappointed to see christinalamb not only shirk away from a real apology but because as part of esea.sisters we would like to start meaningful dialogue. Once again we DO NOT condone threats/trolling.

We are not asking for christinalamb to be cancelled. We were asking for a formal printed apology and retraction which we have yet to receive. If she is genuinely aggrieved and “sorry” as her statement says she is she would appeal to her editor at @thesundaytimes

Petition from esea.sisters following @thesundaytimes ' publication of a racially abusive slur. This happens because sham regulator IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation) ' standards code has a loophole which allows racially abusive coverage to go on (which was put there by editors) change.org/p/the-sunday-t…

The same journalist has now compared reporting on armed conflict to being criticised for racialised language… The levels of privileged, unreflective, and yes racist fuckery required to do so is quite breath taking…

Horrific. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Mee Kuen (Deborah) Chong between Thurs 10th & Sun 27th June. Originally from Malaysia, she had lived in the Wembley area since 2004. Please email [email protected] or call 101 quoting ref 0700 bbc.in/3Apzu9Q

An Asian woman has been found decapitated after going missing over two weeks ago, 200 miles away from her home. This is in a year of rising anti-Asian hate, with elderly people targeted in both the US and the UK. Please connect the dots. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9…

Zing Tsjeng (@misszing) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Am I saying this was an anti-Asian hate crime? We don’t know that yet. But ethnicity is inextricable from this. It’s why you probably didn’t even hear about Mee Kuen going missing or about Bennylyn and her daughter Jellica – until it was too late. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…

I have no idea what you think of when you see Mee Kuen – we have so little representation in the UK media as it is. But when I look at her, I see my mum. I see my aunties. And I know I’m not the only Asian woman thinking now: “Is my family safe? Am I safe?”
