ESA's Hera mission is ready for transport to NASA's Kennedy Space Center next week. I must admit it was very emotional to see the empty clean room 😢 so much work and tears went into this project and soon we won’t see her ever again #HeraMission

The day has arrived for ESA's Hera mission to leave #ESTEC for good. We worked tirelessly for you, we cried, we laughed, we argued and we cheered. We will miss you ❤️

☄️🎆Incoming! The ninth ever immininent impactor has been discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey this morning. There will be a harmless, but likely spectacular fireball in about 8 hours, caused by a small ~1 metre diameter object entering Earth's atmosphere near the Philippines.

📣UPDATE: We expect the ~1 m asteroid discovered this morning to strike Earth's atmosphere over the Philippines near Luzon Island at 16:46 UTC today. However the nearby tropical storm Yagi/Enteng will make fireball observations difficult. Stay safe everyone!

📣UPDATE 2: We expect the ~1 m asteroid discovered this morning to strike Earth's atmosphere over the Philippines near Luzon Island at 16:39 UTC today. Thanks to new observations, we now have a very good idea of where it will impact. And the object has a name! Welcome to Earth

Might we one day see a human-made meteor shower? It's possible, according to an analysis of the debris thrown into space when NASA's DART mission slammed into asteroid Dimorphos. Small, harmless pieces could make it to Mars, or even Earth, in the future. esa.int/Space_Safety/H…
