The World Bank Tanzania, with ICLEI Africa hosted a workshop on 4-5 June to advance the Msimbazi Integrated Watershed Management Plan led by PORALG, addressing flood control, environmental protection, & water resource management. A flagship initiative for #DaresSalaam

The workshop was an initial step toward an integrated watershed management plan involving all relevant government agencies. Such a plan will strengthen watershed management activities at the Msimbazi Basin which is vital for its sustainability.

With rapid urbanization, flooding has become a pressing issue. The Msimbazi Basin is struggling to handle the increasing volume of water. This plan will evaluate watershed risks, flood management, environmental protection, and sustainable water resource management.
