Some of my kindergarten students call me “St. Jeor” instead of Mrs. St. Jeor, as if Saint is my title. Confession: it makes me feel so important that I’ve never corrected them.

There are two types of people in this world: those who say, “Please,” when talking to Alexa and those who do not. (And another very large group of people who don’t use an Echo at all, but that distracts from my point.)

As educators, the more we know about ‘who’ we teach, the more effective we will be with ‘what’ we teach. Knowing our students well is perhaps one of the most impactful academic boosters.

So proud of these First LEGO League Jr. students’ hard work over the past months and their performance today! They were tasked with building all of the essential elements for life on the moon, but they focused much of their attention on a moon stage for marshmellomusic 😂👏

My 5 yo daughter walked outside after school, glanced up at the flag flying at full-mast, and casually said, “Oh, good. No one died today!” Heartbreaking that even innocent children have become accustomed to seeing the flag fly at half-mast because of preventable mass shootings.
