We currently have 75 tenant leaders at City Hall to voice their concern regarding Mayor Q’s proposed ordinances. Housing is a human right and the Mayor seems to only be interested in short-term and unrealistic affordability.

Our leaders took time away from their jobs and families to provide testimony Neighborhood, Planning and Development Committee. In an ideal world, we’d be able to trust our elected officials to do right by us, their constituents.

It’s funny when people yell at us to go the “right” channels to oppose harmful policy. When poor and working people write hundreds of emails, make phone calls, and show up to testify—the “right” channels—we are ignored. For them it’s a performance. For us it’s our lives.

Mayor Mayor Q says he's creating the "missing middle" housing for teachers, City workers, etc. We have teachers in our base. Same w City workers. We organize w bus drivers, line cooks, people on fixed income. They can't afford what they Mayor considers affordable.
