Politically speaking, 2024 has been a total fucking disaster so far.

All building types can be designed to be ugly or beautiful, functional or nonfunctional, walkable or non-walkable. It isn't the type of building, it's the execution.

In the Montgomery County Board of Education Elections, I'm voting for Laura Stewart 4 BOE, Rita Montoya, and Natalie Zimmerman. All three received the cherished Apple Ballot and are non-incumbents because I feel we need some change at MCPS.

Now you know who NOT to vote for in the BOE primary election.

A big mistake anyone can make is to believe NIMBYs are motivated by transactional politics for their asset values.

NIMBYism makes everything in a community worse. Economically, environmentally, city services, access to anything.

It’s extreme aversion to change. That’s it.

If there's one thing I learned from my recent trip to Cuba is that people from two different countries still generally like each other if even if their governments do not.
