VUU says it will save the old Richmond Community Hospital, and the school is being sued over the property. Michael Paul Williams says VUU's announcement "came off more like a preemptive strike against the lawsuit than an honest attempt at compromise." richmond.com/opinion/column…

Since when did Henrico get the best uniforms in the area? A nice part about high school sports is you can change the shades of color you wear or your logo whenever you want. Lots of room for experimentation.

A big shoutout to HS sports journalists past and present, like Zach Joachim, who maintain the record book and are usually the first to know when something big is about to happen.

VCU's athletics village was first conceptualized in 2016 on the sidelines of a VCU basketball game, in a conversation between the governor and the AD. “It feels like I’ve been working on this project most of my professional life,” the AD said. richmond.com/news/local/bus…

What happens in college sports tends to happen in high school sports. No doubt kids are transferring more than a generation ago, and teams that win championships are often armed with transfer students.

A local historian discovered the first votes cast by Black people in Virginia may have occurred in Henrico County in 1864. Black soldiers voted thanks to a loophole in Ohio law that allowed men to vote if they were more white than Black. richmond.com/news/local/his…
